Johnson grass is blocking drainage canals, so East Baton Rouge is beefing up herbicide spraying

East Baton Rouge Parish is upping how often it sprays herbicides in its canals and ditches in an effort to reign in an overgrowth of Johnson grass. The tall, corn-like weed often traps junk trash and debris, inhibiting water flow and undermining the region’s drainage infrastructure.
